You can feel better in your body. Rolfing® can help.

Rolfing® with Kat

Brian C.

"I was sleep-deprived due to nearly constant sciatica pain, and all the standard therapies led to nothing. Then, finally, I took a chance on Rolfing – with Kat – and everything changed. After only one session, I could sleep again, and as a result, I could think again. Nobody else came close to her results after so many hours of trying. Now, we're working on other improvements, which were mere wishes before. Kat's fully invested in my journey. I'm so grateful, and my family is too.

Rolfing® is a specialized form of manual therapy that provides solutions for pain, posture, injury recovery, and embodied living.

Many clients who encounter Rolfing for the first time describe the experience as the best of massage therapy and physical therapy combined. The results can be truly life-changing, especially for those struggling with acute or chronic pain, limited range of motion in their joints, issues with balance and proprioception, and slow recovery from injury or medical procedures.

Rolfing® with Kat can be booked as a single session or a series depending on your goals for treatment.

Rolfing® Structural Integration is traditionally administered as a series of ten sessions (commonly known as “the Ten Series”), but the same therapeutic principles can be applied in a single session or smaller series of sessions to target more focused concerns. Whether you’re looking for treatment to help with a specific problem or an avenue for fully inhabiting your body, Rolfing® can help.

Many clients wonder what to expect from a Rolfing® session

Kat’s protocol is simple, over the course of your 75 minute session, you’ll experience a combination of hands-on bodywork and movement instruction, all specifically targeted to address your goals.

Unlike traditional Swedish massage (what many clients think of when they think of “bodywork”), Rolfing® requires clients to wear appropriate apparel so that the practitioner can perform assessments and ask the client for movement (both on and off the table) at regular intervals throughout the session. We call this approach “test, intervene, re-test” and it’s a primary tenet of Rolfing®. In essence, Kat needs to be able to see and feel the changes that the work is making in your body in real time so she can adjust her approach when necessary. In order to fulfill this tenet, Rolfing® practitioners will typically only use a sheet if the client requests one or if they observe a drop in the client’s body temperature.

Appropriate attire for clients varies based on comfort level. Many clients choose to wear shorter gym clothing or something they would wear to hot yoga. Access to bare skin is very helpful but clients' comfort always comes first.

Over the course of your session Kat will move through a series of assessments and a combination of manual manipulations (i.e. touch therapy) and movement based-interventions (i.e. movement therapy). Sessions typically end with some targeted postural and movement instruction to incorporate in your everyday life.
